Appeal To The twittosphere For The UN Climate Change Conference 2009 #cop15
In less than 50 days the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference (also known as COP15) takes place in Copenhagen. Delegates from 92 countries will be mapping out the Copenhagen treaty which will take the place of the Kyoto Protocol. The aim of COP15 is to come to a binding climate agreement to reduce the amount of man-made greenhouse gases that have a negative effect on the earth’s climate system. Negotiations have been tough going and the new international treaty on CO2 reduction is far from being endorsed.
As social networkers, we can take part in the movement by creating awareness and drawing the attention of internet users in our own networks; by disseminating information and links, and by making appeals to sign the agreement and striking up conversations on our blogs.
But most of all, you can use the hashtag #cop15 in your tweets to push up it to the Twitter “hot trends list
